In June 2013, graffiti artist KATSU took to a vacant lot in Williamsburg with a paint-filled fire extinguisher. Creating a mixed media defecation of a previously blank wall – to the disbelief of passers by – the artist’s practice that day was documented by Ari Marcopoulos. Elegantly designed by Camilla Venturini of Ordinary Books and published by Dashwood in an edition of 1,000 copies, 6-23 ’13 – N6 Street – Brooklyn is the resulting publication. The title takes its name from the date and location of the artwork’s creation. Marcopoulos and Dashwood are no strangers to collaboration, having previously worked together on a number of projects, including the year-long experimental zine project, ANYWAY (2012), so it’s nice to see them partnering up once again.
