This month MACK are releasing a new Alec Soth book. On first (web) inspection this latest work doesn’t carry the immediate punch of his earlier pieces – it’s more of a subtly piece looking at the tension between American individualism (think Thoreau) and the desire to be collective. To me it looks like it’s going to be a bridge between his work that looked very much on people outside of society to delving more into communities.
