Probably most known over here for his work in Purple magazine back-in-the-day, Chikashi Suzuki is one of the bigger names in Japanese fashion photography. This interview on Fashion Post is pretty interesting, especially his opinions on imitation and homage – touchy subjects for pretty much any photographer. The diaristic style that the likes of him and Hiromix popularised in Japan used to fit Purple perfectly.
