Stussy Guest Artist Series: Hajime Sorayama

With his 1978 series, Sexy Robot, Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama pretty much established himself as a legend in the illustrative field. His works combine the female form with robotics and erotism in beautifully painted hues, using astoundingly realistic metallicity techniques. Over the years, Sorayama has taken part in countless exhibitions and projects – including work on SONY’s first-generation AIBO entertainment robot, a bunch of films during the ‘90s, Aerosmith’s 2001 album, Just Push Play, and a handful of solo shows. Stussy recently tapped Sorayama as the latest artist to collaborate with the brand on its ongoing Guest Artist Series, which sees Sorayama’s work appear on a collection of t-shirts. The capsule is timed to coincide with the opening of Sorayama’s new exhibit at the Stussy Harajuku Chapter Store.
