loudQUIETloud – a Pixies Story [Just Because]

loudQUIETloud is the story of the Pixies 2004 comeback and reunion tour. Sometime between breaking up in ’93 and their return in the early 2000s, the world realised that they really missed the Pixies. Maybe  the conspicuous inclusion of ‘Where is My Mind?’ in Fight Club had something to do with that… In any case, Steven Cantor and Matthew Galkin’s film is worth a watch. Not least because of the music, but moreover because of the intimate insights into the four band members’ complex relationships, and fucked up personalities. If there’s one take away here, it’s that really, honestly, if they hadn’t miraculously got together and formed one of the best bands ever, Black Francis, Joey Santiago, David Lovering and Kim Deal would probably still just be anonymous musical losers with behavioural issues. So thank god for that.
