Throwing it back to 1984 with Nicolas Faure here – great book on New York of the time. It’s all too easy to look back through rose-tinted lenses and see New York as a better place back then with its healthy smattering of weirdos and scummy streets. The city has of course since been sanitised and though it’s much safer it’s difficult not to think that some of its soul left with the scumminess.
Faure’s got plenty of other killer work which seems to span a few different styles. New York is definitely the most street of the lot with other series like CERN seeming more contemplative in nature.
