Until recently, Pedro Matos was living and working in London, but the Portuguese artist has moved back to his homeland to take up a residence in Cascais. We’ve always been fans of his large, striking paintings, so it’s nice to see his latest effort – a solo exhibition of four new oil paintings at the TMG (Teatro Municipal da Guarda) in Portugal. The body of work deals with ideas of ephemerality and decaying aesthetics present in the urban landscape – something which has been recurrent in Pedro’s work for some time.
