We’re pretty taken by the latest from Reginald Omas Mamode IV. His new EP, As We Move, is just about to be released on indie label Five Easy Pieces, blending deep, dusty soul with uptight funk and the kind of clickety-clackety smattering of snares and handclaps you might associate with LA’s Brainfeeder artists. There are elements reminiscent of Recloose and Fat Freddy’s Drop in their too – pure funkiness. It’s all heavily compressed and squashed into a meaty, yet slightly ramshackle finished product – one which is on repeat on the sound system tonight.
