Roger Steffens – ‘The Family Acid’

Roger Steffens’ prolific body of photography shot during the psychedelic ’60s and beyond has been the subject of revisitation in recent years, spearheaded by his children, Kate and Devon Steffens, via the Instagram account they set up for that purpose. Steffens began taking photos during his time serving with the Psychological Operations division in Vietnam, and continued shooting for the next 40 years. As the years passed, an increasingly psychedelic vision began to seep into Steffens’ work, taking him all over the world to document people, scenes and landscapes. Now, Kate and Devon have compiled the best shots from over 40,000 photographs in total to present The Family Acid in hardbound form; 156 pages of brilliant moments from Steffens’ generation.
