David Swindells’ Spirit of Ibiza ’89 photos have certainly being doing the rounds since his book launch back in September 2011, but now seems like a better time than any to share them.
David photographed the nightlife scene and beyond since 1984, and also wrote about this same scene extensively.
In 2011 he worked with Ernesto Leal and Lisa Loud to produce an exhibition in London. The photos – mostly of London clubs in 1988 when the culture was so heavily influenced and inspired by Ibiza, and of Ibiza in June 1989 were also shown at the International Music Smmit in Ibiza, as well as being on display at the infamous Hotel Es Vive.
