‘Stations of the Elevated’ Re-release

First released in 1981, Manfred Kirchheimer’s Stations of the Elevated offers an authentic look at New York’s early subway graffiti (the first film to ever do so) and the conflicted culture that surrounded it. The film was recently restored and is set to be re-premiered at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s BAM Cinemafest on June 27, accompanied by a live score by Charles Mingus’ original band, the Mingus Dynasty. DAMN!! It’s an important document of that particular world as it was and we’d love to see a global release and screening run.
